The ninth track of the 'Black Lives Matter' collaboration between Norwich-based trumpeter Chris Dowding and artist Laure Van Minden.

As we begin to imagine the project in its live form, we've found the tracks organising themselves into various areas. Undoubtedly, the tracks and the setup will change in the live context, and we imagine perhaps performing with live visuals, new interpretations by Laure emerging on the spot.

The tracks form themselves into arrangements, with skeletal forms and lines that will remain, under a changing soundworld of looping and electronics...

Laure:

"I chose brighter colours for the drawings to counterbalance the negativity, pessimism and gloominess associated behind not only his story but all stories in our project. I found it fascinating to notice that the black gunshots I had drawn had almost disappeared under the soft purple pastel. A glimpse of hope?"
