The seventh track of 'Black Lives Matter' - a collaboration between Norwich-based trumpeter Chris Dowding and artist Laure Van Minden.

As an unprecedented and certainly difficult year comes to an end, I feel that this track, likewise, perhaps represents a shift and turning point in the project, also with the change of presidency in the US, to a more positive and hopeful future. Obviously, there is a long way to go, and the year has also been interesting for the anti-colonial movement that has come out of the Black Lives Matter movement, here in the UK particularly, with the past we have to face.

Perhaps this track is the beginning of a more hopeful future for the project...

Chris:

"Your question about mixing/mastering was interesting. I am kind of mixing them myself to a certain point, but I think it has been really valuable working with Kevin mixing, and then Paul mastering - I do think it adds to the tracks. I would have got them mastered anyway, but I'm enjoying the process of working with two different people in that process."

Kevin Clarke:
