The twentieth track of the 'Black Lives Matter' collaboration between Norwich-based trumpeter Chris Dowding and artist Laure Van Minden.

An effected trumpet plays through the words 'Black unnamed woman' in varied octaves. A harmonised flugelhorn and sustained cornet pick out phrases of the name melody from the laptop synth.

"I quite often listen to the track as I make the page on Bandcamp, which often brings out descriptions."

Laure:

"After reading about her story, the fact that the names of black women subjected to police violence tend to be "erased" or forgotten, made me want to erase this existing drawing, rubbing out the letters the same way they are rubbed away from our memory....but it wasn't enough... Adding oil remover to help dissolving the letters created with an oil stick helped to make the names disappear from our consciousness. Then the process took over and I was forcibly trying to erase any trace of writing, putting all my weight on the paper, imitating the way the police officer put his knee on Tanisha's back, which eventually led to her death. I stopped with the music just after the hole was created...her last breath."
